about 300 tons of grapes each year, resulting from 40
hectares of vineyards.
Vintage is made only by hand in the first hours of the day and quickly take the grapes in our
vinery. Grapes processed, are almost exclusively indigenous, and are the only basis for the
production of 12 labels. Frappato, Nero d'Avola, Grillo and unusual, from the three areas under
vines company - Chiaramonte Gulfi, Vittoria, and Acate - and will always work for individual
varieties, in order to ensure the best physical condition for the extraction and maintenance scent
and color of the grapes and wine.
Frappato is fantastic grape that produces ample aromas, fruity and elegant. Worked in
monovarietal grape, Frappato, is found into the "1607", a fresh, fruity, drink also at temperatures
below 18 ° C, matched with pizza and fish; Frappato, in blend with the Nero d'Avola, give origin to
the Cerasuolo di Vittoria.
Avide produces two types of Cerasuolo di Vittoria Classico DOCG, the "Barocco" and the ' "Black
Label". The first is a combination of technique, tradition and elegance, with longer passage in
tonneux and Barrique for almost two years, it is a product that comes from more than three
decades of experience, and is the flagship company and a reference point for many Sicilian
wines. The Black Label, Cerasuolo di Vittoria best known, is a fresh wine, appropriately
structured with a cherry red color (cerasa – Cherry, from which: Cerasuolo), fresh aromas, fruity,
“Sigillo” and “3Carati” are, respectively, Nero d'Avola and Syrah, one and Nero d'Avola 100%, the
second. Elegant, structured, typical.
"Mariastella" insolia 100%, "Lidiae" Grillo 100%, and “Riflessi di Sole” , are the three white wines
of Avide: the first two fresh, fragrant and minerals, the third, a sought-after product, the result of
fermentation and aging in 500-liter barrels, elegant, fragrant, round, persistent and complex.
In 2008 Avide for academic reasons of Marco Calcaterra, undertakes the trial production of the
first “Metodo Classico” from Frappato grapes; this experience brings Avide to propose to the
market, in 2013, the two labels of Metodo Classico "Nutaru Brut"
and "Nutaru Rosé", both from Frappato and both with very short
runs. In 2017 we introduced two new labels “Lo & La”, a very
interesting blend of Nero d’Avola and Syrah and Grillo and Insolia.
Wines easy to drink but also elegant and fruited.
